Support

Where to find support

Support comes from established MPS organisations, specialist metabolic centres, family networks and international federations. MPS Bio signposts to them; it does not replace them.

Regional applicability: Applies in the UK and internationally

What MPS Bio does and does not do

MPS Bio provides information, signposting and referral guidance. It does not fundraise or campaign, and it does not replace healthcare services, emergency care, specialist clinicians or established MPS organisations.

National MPS societies

  • Country-level organisations for families and carers
  • Practical guidance on benefits, schooling and daily life
  • Regional coordinators and local contacts

Specialist metabolic centres

  • Where assessment and long-term care are coordinated
  • Referral is normally arranged through your existing clinical team
  • Centres differ in the services they host on site

Family and community networks

  • Peer contact with other families
  • Practical help and local groups
  • Moderated spaces, with their own rules on medical discussion

International federations

  • Cross-border information and research links
  • Directories of national member organisations
  • Conference and family-meeting listings
Named organisations are not yet listed

This page describes the categories of support without naming individual organisations. Named listings require verification of each organisation, a recorded review date and a link-checking process before publication. That work must be completed before the website opens to the public.
